Working Principle
The pneumatic wafer butterfly valve operates through a quarter-turn rotational motion. When the pneumatic actuator receives a control signal, it rotates the valve stem and attached disc by 90 degrees. In the open position, the disc is parallel to the flow, offering minimal resistance. When closed, the disc rotates perpendicular to the flow, creating a tight seal against the valve seat.
The wafer design is installed between pipe flanges using through-bolts, making it more compact and lighter than flanged-end valves. The actuator can be configured for either double-acting (air to open, air to close) or spring-return (automatically returns to safe position on air failure) operation.
