Typical Applications
Operation Principle
The Pneumatic Soft Seal Wafer Butterfly Valve operates through compressed air (typically 0.4-0.6MPa) acting on the pneumatic actuator’s piston or diaphragm mechanism. This generates rotational torque that is transmitted to the valve stem, causing the disc to rotate 90° between open and closed positions. In the fully open state, the disc aligns parallel to the flow direction, offering minimal flow resistance. When closed, the disc rotates perpendicular to the flow path, with the resilient seat material compressing against the disc periphery to achieve bubble-tight shutoff (ANSI Class VI standard). The wafer-style design is installed between pipeline flanges using through-bolts, eliminating the need for valve-end nuts.
