Working Principle
1. When the fluid in the pipeline flows forward normally, the pressure pushes the butterfly disc open, allowing the medium to pass through smoothly.
2. When the fluid tends to flow backward (e.g., pump shutdown), the reverse pressure and the valve’s self-weight drive the butterfly disc to close gradually.
3. During the closing process, the built-in buffer structure slows down the disc’s closing speed, avoiding violent collision with the valve seat and eliminating destructive water hammer, thus preventing medium backflow and protecting the pipeline system.
